Humour and Feats are the key elements to VolteFace.

Taking its roots in the traditional art of circus, the company revels in continually inventing, creating and innovating by using new sources of inspiration.

The artists of VolteFace are the same time spontaneous and professional.

The company uses the artistic world that surrounds them to innovate, improve and work on the scenery, music and choreography of the artists.

The audience particulary enjoys the mixing of cultures and genres which create an original and unique show

VolteFace can provide for the needs of councils, companies, associations and individuals who whish to provide entertainment for any particular event.


Historical background

The company was created in 1986 and its objectives are :

- The creating of lively shows within the realms of the circus : with a written script, production, theatrical devices and music.

- The developping of the circus art within schools and outside scholls by catering for children and adolescents : introductory courses about working on stage; a show at the end of the course directed by the company; the performing of a show (Behind the Circus Scenes) all of which help to teach children about the history of and training within the circus.

Thanks to its artistic and educative expertise the company was quickly acknowledged by the A.N.D.A.C. (part of the ministry of culture) and then by the C.N.A.P. and the S.N.F.A.C..

In December 1999, the company was etablished in the Cultural Center of Blaiserie (Poitiers) in order to create its new show "Histor'Hic" (a parody about the history of the circus).

Since 2003, the company has concentrated its work in the school of circus called "Hors Piste" (La Rochelle).

Since 1986, six different shows have been created and performed. Five of them have received the support of the "Direction des Théâtres et des Spectacles", three of which were to create the shows and the other two to work on the scenery. Over 1500 shows in Europe and Asia (Japan) have already been given by the company.
